Patom Organic Living

Bangkok, Sukhumvit Soi 49/6.
Concealed in the maze of Thonglor district, Patom Organic Living is close to paradise. A magical and unexpected green café, that transports us to a world parallel to that of the capital, where serenity, refinement and ecology prevail.
Opened in 2015, Patom Organic Living is a multi-faceted space, part of a well-defined sustainable approach. With two cafés and a farm to date, the company offers a farm-to-table experience, against a backdrop of elevated ecology. While the farm sees to the growth of ingredients and the elaboration of products, the Bangkok location provides the perfect setting for a quiet retreat in nature, in the middle of the city. From the food to the beauty products, everything is grown and sourced locally, with constant respect for an organic and eco-friendly process.

Coffee & Beauty
Totally apart, the café is a sight to behold. Bordered by a magnificent tropical garden, it allows you to forget the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and immerse yourself in a fabulous and luminous setting, while browsing through the products and menu. Here, you’ll find bentos and pastries filled with irresistible Thai flavors, while drinks showcase local crops, such as organic Arabica coffee grown in the valleys of northern Thailand, organic teas from the Chiang Rai region, Thai chocolate and a heavenly signature coconut coffee. In addition, the boutique exhibits a range of haircare and bodycare products, all made in-house and in small batches, from locally grown ingredients.

Clear Architecture
We owe the architecture to Nita Yuvaboon and Prow Puttorngul, both from the Bangkok-based firm NITAPROW. Housed in a cubic, all-glass building, the café’s dazzling design ensures a constant dialogue with nature’s omnipresence through the transparency of the structure. Each element of the construction embodies the company’s eco-responsible ideology, from the reclaimed Redwood and Tabak wood, fondamental to the design and sourced from an old barge, to the recycled wooden beams and refurbished furniture. Modern elements meets traditional thai touches in the wide, breathing dining space marked by white marble mixed with beautifully contrasting wooden tables and chairs. Finally, the garden and its lush vegetation unifies the whole space by creating a truly unique atmosphere, making it undoubtedly one of the most charming cafés in town.
Eco-Friendly Mission
Founded in the spirit of community, the company is above all a family story. Strongly inspired by their grandparents passion for nature and hospitality, the owner’s family carried on the tradition by founding an organic farm and café-boutiques. The farm is located Sampran, about 30 km from Bangkok (or just a boat ride away), and grows herbs, fruits and vegetables over 4 hectares of land. It also houses cultural workshops, eco-cultural activities, tours, as well as a hotel, a restaurant and a research and product development laboratory.
When developing a new product, Patom turns to over 150 organic farmers to grow the required ingredients. The process is overseen by the Sookjai Foundation, which ensures compliance with organic standards in terms of both quality and traceability.

In tune with the boom in organic farming in Thailand, which has been underway for some years, Patom Organic Living is overall a successful endeavor. Intimate and welcoming, it embodies a practical and viable model of sustainability, in an exceptional setting.
*The café being within walking distance of the Wat Sri Bunrunang canal, opt for water cab transport for an even more unique experience.
