Every day, the hotel welcomes you between 2:00 and 5:00 pm for a classic High Tea. We’re welcomed in the inner courtyard for a moment that marries Thai refinement with British tradition. Tea time includes English classics: cucumber sandwiches, mignardises, petits fours and scones, all accompanied by tea, coffee or sparkling wine. Enjoy while surrounded by the remarkable décor and impeccable service.
Located on the east bank of the Chao Phraya, The Siam was designed by creative director and pop star Krissada Sukosol in collaboration with interior designer Bill Bensley. Drawing inspiration from the Musée d’Orsay in Paris and the Thai pomp of the Rama V era (1953-1910), the hotel’s signature black-on-white Art Deco style has since made it one of the capital’s most distinctive establishments and arguably, the most beautiful. More than a luxury hotel, it’s a place where every detail has been thought out with harmony in mind, and where Thai tradition lives on.
After tea, venture into the rest of the hotel to discover works from Mr. Sukosol’s famous art collection, and the grandiose architecture of the premises. The works offer a harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary art that reflects the spirit of its owner, while adding an original personal touch to this atypical place. These include statuettes dating back to the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), over 25,000 antiques, as well as more modern pieces such as a vintage luxury car.
The icing on the cake is the Siam’s complimentary Cuise Shuttle service. The boat still pick you up and drop you off wherever you like along the Chao Phraya River*, at your convenience.
